Have you ever made fun of a person and then said, "Just Kidding!" After it? I know I have. And I know that what usually comes before saying, "just kidding," is usually pretty hurtful.
Proverbs 26: 18-19 say, "Just as damaging as a madman shooting a deadly weapon is someone who lies to a friend and then says 'just kidding.'"
This stuck out to me today because I have said some pretty hurtful things followed by that phrase. My words to everyone are not always uplifting.
What will I change today? I will continue to check my words before they come out of my mouth. And if I am put in a situation where I may need to say, "just kidding," after I say something, I will choose not to say it!
If you have been around me at all the past three years, you know I am still the Interim Director of Youth Ministries here at camp. Today I will finally have my interview to discern my future here at camp. Please be praying for the process, and for the ultimate decision. Thank you so much for your support!
In His service, Crazy Pete
